An 8-year-old boy saved his 20-month-old sister’s life thanks to a TV show on Nickelodeon.
Jaxson Demsey from Pennsylvania was in the backseat of his dad’s car with his sister Layla on Wednesday when he noticed that she was choking on a nugget.
Remembering an episode from The Substitute featuring John Cena as a substitute teacher teaching a classroom of kids first aid on a dummy, Jaxson immediately jumped into action.
E! News reports that it took Jaxson 30 seconds to dislodge the nugget from his sister’s throat, all thanks to the CPR technique he learnt from watching the show.
In an interview with ABC affiliate WNEP, Jaxson said: “It made me feel scared because I thought she was going to die. But then this thing came into my mind. I told my dad to pull over, and I started to pat her back.”
