THE Department of Health said on Friday it coordinated with DoH-11 (Davao Region) to see if former presidential candidate Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro Jr. and Camarines Sur First District Rep. Rolando “Nonoy” Andaya, Jr. violated the Vaccination Priority Framework of the National Immunization Technical Advisory Group.
“They will release an explanation for this. Nevertheless, we believe our [DoH] regional office in Davao is following our protocols,” Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said in English and Filipino.
She added the Health department would look into the information that would be given to them by DoH-11.
When asked if someone who is not a resident of a certain place can get vaccinated somewhere else Vergeire said, “It depends on the circumstances, but we are not so very strict in geographic limitations. What’s important to us is that the prioritization framework is implemented.”
On June 3, Andaya posted a photo of Teodoro getting his first dose of vaccine inside the Davao City Hall. Teodoro is a former representative of Tarlac and a resident of the province.
In a separate post, Andaya captioned the photo, “Salamat Mayor Inday Sara for the vaccination shots (Thank you, Mayor Inday Sara for the vaccination shots),” referring to Davao City mayor and presidential daughter Sara Duterte-Carpio.
According to DoH’s Memorandum 2021-0099, walk-in vaccination will not be allowed “since vaccines allocated for the day are sufficiently assigned for the projected number of vaccinations to be conducted in a day.”
It also states scheduling for vaccination should be made by local governments or zones, “in accordance with available supply and deliveries.”
