TTM lifted their first-ever trophy in their maiden campaign after a narrow win over Chippa United in a tightly contested Nedbank Cup final, at the Free State Stadium

Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) lifted their first-ever trophy in their maiden campaign after defeating Chippa United in a narrow 1-0 win in the Nedbank Cup final at the Free State Stadium on Saturday.
Midfielder Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo scored the decisive goal of the game as TTM defied the odds and their underwhelming league form to bag the R7 million in prize-money.
TTM took the lead somewhat against the run of play in the 27th minute thanks to a deflected long-range effort by Ndlondlo.
The goal seemed to put the wind in TTM’s sails as they grew increasingly confident as the match progressed.
Both teams failed to trouble the goal for the remainder of the first period as Ndlondlo’s strike proved the difference at the break.
Chippa looked to hit back in the second-half and went in search of an equaliser as they increasingly threw bodies forward.
Despite their best efforts, the Chippa United onslaught was kept at bay by the TTM defence.
