OnePlus has now confirmed that its 9 series will launch in conjunction with Hasselblad. It has just posted a new YouTube clip starring a representative of this brand with new hints as to what their co-developed cameras can do. Meanwhile, the 9 Pro’s rumored n…

OnePlus has already insinuated that it can square up to mobile-photography rivals such as Samsung with its upcoming 9 flagship series. This is because it has signed a multi-million-dollar partnership with Hasselblad, resulting in the 2 companies co-operating on camera development for the 9 Pro at least. Now, a new teaser hints at what has been achieved as a result.
It comes in the form of a new YouTube preview featuring Hasselblad ambassador Lars Schneider, portrayed as embarking on a snowy mountain-climb. This involved epic scenery, which, as Schneider intimated, could be captured in one shot with a 9-series device.
This ability may intersect with rumors of the “free-form” ultrawide shooter allegedly destined for the 9 Pro: an IMX 786 of no less than 50MP in resolution. Meanwhile, a different photograph, taken by the leaker Vaibhav Jain (or Techdroider) and posted to Instagram, seems to show the 9 Pro as revealed earlier by its OEM, but in black.
This shade, thought to be called Stellar Black, has sparked speculation that it might represent a return to OnePlus’ Sandstone roots thanks to a slight texture visible in the image. However, it is more likely that this is simply a re-brand of the glittery finish a sister company, OPPO, has developed for its Reno5 Pro+.
