The NSW health department has quashed false reports circulating on social media that supermarkets would be closed for four days.
A falsified screenshot dated 22 July, which appears to come from the NSW Health website, claims the stores across Greater Sydney would close from July 27.
We are constantly reviewing the health advice and will continue to update the community if any changes are required, it read.
It said the restrictions currently in place across Greater Sydney including the Central Coast, Blue Mountains, Wollongong and Shellharbour will remain – but an additional measure will be enforced from Monday.
In these areas, supermarkets will also be closed for 4 days from 27 July 2021, it incorrectly claimed.

In an official statement to 7NEWS.com.au, NSW Health confirmed it had been made aware of false reports circulating on social media, suggesting supermarkets are closing for four days next week.
NSW Health can confirm this is not the case, and reminds people to only use trusted and credible sources for information on COVID-19, it added.
NSW Health encouraged residents to use the NSW Government website.
