Inclusion Vanguard Award
The Honourable Dr. Jean Augustine had a simple plan for her future. Growing up in the community of Happy Hill, Grenada in the 1940s, Augustine wanted to be a teacher. Looking back on her accomplishments, its clear to see that shes been teaching her whole life, even when she was a principal, a community advocate and leader, and the first African-Canadian woman elected to the House of Commons.
