According to Harpers Bazaar, an official Buckingham Palace press release said the only people in attendance for the statue unveiling will be the two princes; close family of the late Princess of Wales; members of the statue committee; the statue’s sculptor, Ian Rank-Broadley; and garden designer Pip Morrison.
However, Kate will not miss out on seeing the statue prior to the event.
The Duke of Cambridge is to pay a private visit to his mother’s statue with his wife and three children ahead of its official unveiling on Thursday, the Telegraph reported on Monday.
Prince William is understood to be keen to share some private time in the presence of the statue with his children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis before it is revealed to the wider world.
The statue, which was commissioned to mark the twentieth anniversary of Princess Diana’s death and to recognise her positive impact in the UK and around the world, will be officially unveiled at a ceremony on Thursday (UK time) on what would have been her 60th birthday.
The sculpture will stand in the sunken garden, one of the late Princesss favourite spots at the place she called home from marriage until she died.
