It was love at first FaceTime for a pair of tortoises in Somersby, Australia, when they had their first virtual date.
Hugo, the Galapagos tortoise, has lived at the Australian Reptile Park since 1963, and now, at the age of 70, he is ready to settle down.
His mate, Estrella, was due to arrive in early 2020 from Germany, but her arrival was postponed because of Covid-19 restrictions.

Estrella has now arrived in Australia but will be in mandatory quarantine until September, so the pair had a virtual date where the chemistry was off the charts.

Daniel Rumsey, head of reptiles at the park said: We have always wanted to get Hugo a girlfriend to replace the special rock he has in his enclosure, and this was a great step towards their meeting.
