A lucky Ashburton Powerball player has scored a $5.3 million win in the Powerball First Division Lotto draw on Saturday evening.
The winning ticket was sold online on MyLotto, and is made up of $5 million from Powerball First Division and $333,333 from Lotto First Division.
They are the fourteenth Powerball winner this year. Last week, a young couple from Auckland won $17.16 million with Powerball, calling it a life-changing event.
Two other lucky Lotto players each won $333,333 with Lotto First Division. These tickets were sold at Countdown Cambridge in Cambridge and PaknSave Riccarton in Christchurch.

Strike Four was won by a player from Waikato who took home $200,000 – also bought online with MyLotto.
